Our Admin Staff
Louisa was pulled to Energy Equine for a variety of reasons, including the company’s over-arching focus on the equine athlete, innovative and collaborative outlook and the fact the team isn't scared to be unique! The story goes that she stalked Dr. Hewlett around a variety of events before he gave her a job in May of 2018 as the team’s social media manager. She has since gone on to wear the hat of Director of Marketing, and now Clinic Director. Louisa does a little bit of everything in the clinic, still managing our marketing, sponsorships, trade shows and events while overseeing reception, scheduling and client services. Louisa’s personal and professional lives often overlap, her passion is in the western discipline of cutting and she is heavily involved in the performance horse industry. A former National Cutting Horse Association World Finalist, she is currently a Director within various levels of the NCHA and can be found “loping” for cutting horse trainers at horse shows on the weekend, as well as showing her own horse, Chivas.
Director of Finance
Nancy is an integral part of the Energy Equine team, handling the myriad of financial responsibilities that come with a clinic, as well as human resources and much of the day-to-day operations that keep Energy Equine afloat. Her background in the dental world means that she brings a wealth of knowledge to bridging operations and administration, and is hyper-aware of customer service and client retention. In her spare time she is passionate about permaculture, she operates Sage Creek Permaculture with Chad and spending time in the mountains alongside her family.
Nikala joined the Energy Equine team in January of 2019 managing the pharmacy, along with the clinic's inventory. She was drawn to Energy Equine because of the integrative and collaborative mindset of the veterinary team and support staff. Day-to-day you can find Nikala mastering paperwork, pharmacy counts and inventory control, plus she always lends a helping hand on the operations side when needed. Nikala is motivated each day by the never-ending opportunity to learn more about veterinary medicine and sports medicine. When Nikala is not filling her role at our clinic, you can find her training and teaching hunter/jumper lesson while developing horses and riders alike. Nikala lives in Airdrie with her husband, her dog-children Ellie and Kona and Quando her 6 year old Canadian Warmblood.
Synergy Equine Receptionist
Leah Campbell is a graduate of the BC College of Equine Sports Therapy, spends her spare time barrel racing on her great horse, Player, and has been a long-time client of Energy Equine. She also has a background working in dressage and show jumping barns, which is where we ended up spending a lot of time working alongside her before she officially joined our team in November of 2020! Leah is kind, attentive and enthusiastic, and there aren't many moments she doesn't have a smile on her face. She spends most of her time manning the fort at Synergy Equine but is at Energy Equine helping with reception on Wednesday's.
Energy Equine Receptionist
Kendra Day is also a graduate of the BC College of Equine Sports Therapy, and has a passion for both horses and cows! You can often find her lending a helping hand to her husband on the ranch. Her specialty is taking care of creatures big and small – including bottle calves, sick calves, mama cows, you name it – Kendra is caring for it. In her spare time Kendra can be found riding and showing cutting horses. Kendra officially joined our team in January of 2021 and has since mastered the many facets of reception at Energy Equine. On any given day she is helping our operations team, booking appointments and ensuring coggins and exports are ready to be signed, all with a smile on her face and time to catch up with a client.
